Holding space for the magic, the mystery, and the uncertainty of creative rebirth

Before the caterpillar becomes a butterfly, it must enter the chrysalis — a space where the caterpillar can rest, dissolve, re-envision, re-create, rebuild, and — ultimately — be reborn.

This special "Chrysalis Edition" of KILN will extend particular love and attention to the liminal, to the threshold, to the uncomfortable moment when we are not quite this and not quite that.

So many of us are navigating the fog of uncertainty, the tug of new callings, and the necessity of reinvention right now. In order to move through these deep changes with grace, we need to hold space for ourselves.

This special edition of KILN will honor that gooey, liminal space — that "caterpillar soup" of uncertainty — and encourage you lean into it.

As we surrender to uncertainty, we open to new possibilities — for our callings, our careers, and our creativity.

“Jocelyn creates a space to remember what it feels like to pursue the creative thing that excites you — and then to be buoyed by the enthusiasm, uplift, and honesty of your fellow participants.”
—Robin

You do not have to identify as a “creative” to be welcome in this space.

Creativity is not a fixed quality that some people have and others do not. It is a relationship that you cultivate with yourself and your own deepest knowing. KILN will help you commit to that relationship, opening the door to more ease, more flow, and more confidence in your creative practice.

“KILN was an anchor for me, and a reminder that every day is a precious opportunity to be a creative human being.”
—Florencia

KILN: Structure & Flow

KILN is an 8-week program that will support you in exploring your creativity in a deeper way.

Every Tuesday, KILN will create space to reflect on your creative process, participate in alchemy coaching w/ Jocelyn, and/or connect with other community members to share work and build accountability (optional!).

Every Friday, KILN will provide a regular rhythm of co-creation sessions to cultivate a deeper relationship with your creative practice.

Please note: I do not expect you to attend every single session. I offer two sessions each week so that you have options for how and when you show up, based on what works with your schedule.

KILN: Creative Gatherings

All gatherings will be recorded & shared for replay

Intention Activation

Opening Session, 90 mins

To kick off the program, Jocelyn will guide you through a series of prompts and visualizations to tune into yourself, clarify your creative goals, and hone in on your intention for our time together — activating the spark that will illuminate the way forward.

Alchemy & Flow

Every other Tuesday, 90 mins

The session will kick off with a brief “clearing & comforting” meditation to drop into the space, then Jocelyn will guide folks through a series of prompts designed to help you reflect on your relationship to your creative / transformative / regenerative process, and how you might open to deeper flow, surrender, or reciprocity with it.

Then we’ll move into 45 minutes of “alchemy coaching,” where Jocelyn will field questions about whatever challenges are arising for you around creativity, consciousness, or just being in the “caterpillar soup.” Think: quieting the inner critic, side-stepping “the resistance,” learning how to collaborate with the muse, surrendering to the undoing, and so on.

Community & Co-Creation

Every other Tuesday, 90 mins

After a brief opening meditation, this session will have a flexible format,
depending on how you want to show up. For those who crave more connection, we will break into small working groups for the first half of the session. (The groups will be organized around supportive activities that you can opt into — like sharing your work, creating accountability, etc.)

For those who prefer to journey on their own, there will be a “focus room,” where you can dive right into a co-creation session, working quietly alongside your fellow KILNfolk. After the first 45 minutes, everyone will be invited to participate in a short co-creation sprint until the end of the session.

Co-Creation Sessions

Every Friday, 120 mins

Jocelyn will open the Friday sessions with a "spark tool" — a creative tip, tool, or question — that will help you access your creativity with greater ease. Then she will guide everyone through a brief “kindling meditation”
to calm the mind and awaken your creative fire.

Then we'll sink into "parallel play" for a 90-minute creative sprint together, harnessing the energy of the KILN to connect into your practice with depth, focus, compassion, and playfulness. At the close of each session, we'll have an optional debrief where we check in about our progress, our challenges, and what we're noticing.

Synthesis & Celebration

Closing Session, 90 mins

Jocelyn will guide everyone through a series of prompts to synthesize and appreciate how your work has unfolded, how your practice has evolved, and how you can integrate those learnings into your daily life moving forward. We’ll also take some time to celebrate what we’ve learned as a community and how we can carry that back out into the world.

All gatherings will be recorded & shared for replay

“I had a lot of creative insights in KILN, where I thought: Wow, I didn’t even know that was possible! It’s been really transformative.”
—Annie

—Marjorie

Hi, I’m Jocelyn, host of the Hurry Slowly podcast, the creator of KILN, and a facilitator of community & creativity.

I've been studying how creative folks bring their ideas to fruition for the past 15 years. I’ve also been teaching courses and leading communities — including RESET, Hi-Fi, Tender Discipline, and Channel — since 2019.

In the process, I’ve had the honor of seeing thousands of students come through my programs, and I've learned so much about the art of gathering — about building trust, generating energy & motivation, and creating space for new ideas and ways of being to emerge.

As I look back, it feels like all of this work has been building towards KILN — towards understanding how to create a space of deep holding, intentionality, and transformation for conscious creative folks who want to make an impact in the world.

If you’re feeling called to join, it would be my honor to serve as your guide. ✨

p.s. If you want a more formal resumé, you can see my full bio here, all the books I’ve published here, and lots of cool stuff I’ve made here.

“This course helped me make space to launch a scary/exciting project I'd been ruminating on for three (!) years. It fostered a culture of allowing that made releasing the project feel natural, joyful, and abundant.” —Lucy B.

“I had been missing creativity in my life for quite some time. Jocelyn's course removed many blocks for me, and I started drawing again and enjoying it.” —Zahida H.

“This course came at the perfect time for me. The tools I gained have helped me create a new vision for myself. I’m excited and optimistic for the first time in years.” —Karoline S.

“Jocelyn’s courses talk to your brain and your soul, and you are guided to come up with the answers to what works for you.” —Lee B.

“I deeply appreciate what Jocelyn does and the space she creates for people to feel connection. Being in her presence on a weekly basis was a tonic.” —Britt S.

“Hand on heart, life is better after this course. I wouldn’t have thought an online experience could be so connecting and intimate and alive and fun.” Alice R.
